After months of negotiations, and nearly a year after the original deadline, Republican lawmakers finally put forth and passed a budget this week. North Carolina had not passed a state budget since 2023, causing strain for public institutions, especially public schools, in the interim.
TCI is thankful that budget conferees in the House of Delegates and Senate reached an agreement that asks some of the world’s most profitable corporations to pay more of their fair share.
