Mississippi will not expand its school voucher program to use public tax dollars for private school tuition after the Mississippi Senate Education Committee killed the House’s massive education package.
After months of negotiations, and nearly a year after the original deadline, Republican lawmakers finally put forth and passed a budget this week. North Carolina had not passed a state budget since 2023, causing strain for public institutions, especially public schools, in the interim.
